Our first impression of the street was that it acts as a transition space, directed for the mobility. However the logic of the mobility in Gran Via is focused on private cars, moving in variable speeds is not the logical for a city like Barcelona, which provides several services and has big density.

The search for low carbon emission in Industry and Transportation has turned to be an important goal worldwide and for the increasement of the quality of life.

Based on the analysis done on mapping the traffic flow, mapping the speed of the vechiles, mapping the time of travel for different means of transport during different period of time, our proposal was a tool that optimizes displacement focusing on energy saving, and giving out the prefect combination of diferent means of transportation during the day.

The tool was an imediate proposal and our aim is to take out the private car out of Gran Via, turning the existing infraestructure (Bicing, Bus, Metro, Private vechiles) in favor of Bicing and public transportatoin, changing the relationship between the people, vehicles, and the public spaces.
